Kind of. I believe that as a professor, the more titles to your name, the less likely it is for you to relate to your students. I mean, some of my professors are so smart...almost too smart.
Do not get this confused with a professor who has no clue what he is talking about, because unorganized professors are just as bad as really smart ones.
And of course there are those rare professors who have a doctorate and a couple master's and yet they are AWESOME teachers...so there are a few exceptions.
If your anatomy professor is a retired surgeon, he will treat you like a surgeon in training. This means, memorize the whole book and maybe you will pass the test.
Don't get me wrong, I want to learn, and having someone very informed and professional on the topic will help me be the best I can be, but...Mr. Anatomy Professor - I do NOT want to be a surgeon, so can you please not teach me like one? I promise I will understand the material much better if you teach in English and not surgeonese...thanks!
