I have finally gotten an answer to one of my odd observations. I really am ashamed that I made this observation, I feel really judgmental...but sometimes, things are just too obvious for one not to notice.
What is my observation? Well, I guess I'll just say it bluntly...that one of my classmates has gained weight and lots of it.
Now before you judge me for judging this person, let me explain myself and give some precursors.
First, about 25% of my major deals with weight management; therefore, it is becoming very easily for me to detect when someone gains weight, what a person's general weight is just by looking at them, etc. It's kind of disturbing actually. Next, I did not 'confront' this person or question them asking if they had gained any weight or why. And lastly, this person willingly told the class that he had gained weight.
75 pounds to be exact.
Woah! 75 pounds??! In 8 months? And he's only a sophomore! Is he going to gain another 200 pounds during the rest of his college career?? The other astonishing thing about this scenario is that he is an athlete here at Bethel...a TRACK athlete. So of course he couldn't be eating poorly if he is on the track team right?
I have come to the conclusion - just by LOOKING at the food here on campus, you gain weight.

Ha, ha! I teach health to the 4th year girls here at the Bible College and I have them weigh in on their first day of class. Then on the last day of class they weigh in again. Invariably they gain weight, too much eating and sitting. Not me though, I have lost lots of weight, oh yeah!
I love health class! It is one of those classes that is so practical to our daily lives. Sounds like you make it interesting :)
