Today, I got my very own library card for the Mishawaka library! I was so excited...over a little piece of laminated paper?? I think yes!
You see, reading is my stress reliever. Yes, we do have a library on campus...filled with educational and philosophical books, which are NOT very good stress relievers. So, I decided to go to the public library.
Well, the librarian told me that since I was not a permanent resident, I would have to pay a fee for my library card. When I heard the word 'fee' I thought 5-10 dollars right? No, 70 dollars! What?!
I begged and pleaded with her, telling her that I was just a college student who wanted to borrow a book every two weeks to keep my stress level under control...so she made a deal with me - I could get the library card for free as long as I only used it while I was living on campus. Pretty good deal considering that I wasn't planning on driving 3 hours when at home to just come to the library.
So, yesterday I walked out of the library with my library card and Nicholas Sparks book in hand...I was one happy camper :)
